Attendance and class participation are important both for successful completion of coursework and for class dynamics that depend on involved interaction. Registering for courses with time conflicts is discouraged for all students; however, with the permission of the instructors of all conflicting courses, students may register for courses whose scheduled times overlap as follows:

• At most, 20 minutes of overlap per week is permitted if any courses involved are 1 to 2 credits.
• At most, 30 minutes of overlap per week is permitted if all courses involved are 3 or more credits.

Registering for courses with time conflicts is not allowed for freshmen in their first year at L&C.
